Un Museo a misura di bambino, arriva il leone “Marzocchino”

A partire dal fine settimana di Ognissanti, il Museo Civico Pinacoteca Crociani di Montepulciano inaugura una nuova guida dedicata ai bambini (5-10 anni). Con l’inizio del mese di novembre, inoltre, cambiano gli orari di apertura.

In occasione del ponte dei Santi, il Museo Civico Pinacoteca Crociani di Montepulciano accoglie le famiglie con bambini, proponendo un percorso speciale creato per coinvolgere e catturare l’interesse dei più piccoli. Ad accompagnare i giovani esploratori lungo le sale del museo sarà una guida d’eccezione, il simpatico leoncino Marzocchino. Questo personaggio accogliente guiderà genitori, figli, nonni e nipoti alla scoperta dei tesori e delle curiosità del museo, trasformando la visita in un’esperienza divertente e istruttiva per tutti. Il librettino-guida, che verrà regalato ai bambini in ricordo dell’esperienza, è ricco di illustrazioni, fotografie, fumetti e giochi che svelano opere e reperti rendendoli comprensibili a grandi e piccini.

«Questa iniziativa è un primo passo per avvicinare il Museo Civico Pinacoteca Crociani a un pubblico di diverse età, offrendo nuove chiavi di lettura e di fruizione dei suoi spazi e delle sue collezioni – afferma la nuova Direttrice, Patrizia La Porta – invitiamo i piccoli poliziani e le loro famiglie a trascorrere i weekend d’autunno, o le vacanze di Natale al Museo, un luogo che custodisce oggetti preziosi e storie di un tempo passato».

Perché il “Marzocchino”? La Colonna con il Marzocco è uno dei primi punti d’interesse che si incontrano visitando Montepulciano, iniziando il percorso da Porta al Prato. Il Marzocco, rappresentato dal leone che sorregge lo scudo, è il simbolo di Firenze e testimonia il profondo legame tra la capitale del Rinascimento e la città poliziana; è anche il simbolo stesso del Museo, all’interno del quale viene custodito l’originale i travertino. Eretto nel 1511 nell’attuale piazza Savonarola, il Marzocco in cima alla Colonna commemora il definitivo passaggio di Montepulciano a Firenze, ed è rimasto in quel luogo fino al 1856, quando è stato sostituito da una copia.

Nuovi orari. Si ricorda, inoltre, che a partire da novembre, tornano gli orari invernali al Museo Civico che prevedono: da venerdì 1° novembre al 19 dicembre 2024, aperture solo sabato e domenica, dalle 10.00 alle 18.00. Dal 20 dicembre 2024 al 6 gennaio 2025, il Museo sarà aperto tutti i giorni, dalle 10.00 alle 18.00, con eccezione dei martedì, del 25 dicembre 2024 e del 1° gennaio 2025. Starting from the All Saints weekend, the Museo Civico Pinacoteca Crociani in Montepulciano inaugurates a new guide dedicated to children (5-10 years). With the beginning of November, the opening hours also change.

On the occasion of the All Saints long weekend, the Museo Civico Pinacoteca Crociani in Montepulciano welcomes families with children, offering a special itinerary created to involve and capture the interest of the little ones. Accompanying the young explorers along the museum’s halls will be an exceptional guide, the friendly little lion Marzocchino. This welcoming character will lead parents, children, grandparents and grandchildren to discover the museum’s treasures and curiosities, transforming the visit into a fun and educational experience for everyone. The guide booklet, which will be given to children as a memento of the experience, is full of illustrations, photographs, comics and games that reveal works and finds, making them understandable to adults and children alike.

“This initiative is a first step to bring the Museo Civico Pinacoteca Crociani closer to an audience of different ages, offering new ways of reading and enjoying its spaces and collections – says the new Director, Patrizia La Porta – we invite the little Poliziani and their families to spend the autumn weekends, or the Christmas holidays at the Museum, a place that preserves precious objects and stories of a bygone era”.

Why the “Marzocchino”? The Column with the Marzocco is one of the first points of interest that you encounter when visiting Montepulciano, starting the route from Porta al Prato. The Marzocco, represented by the lion holding the shield, is the symbol of Florence and testifies to the deep bond between the capital of the Renaissance and the Poliziana city; it is also the symbol of the Museum itself, inside which the original travertine is kept. Erected in 1511 in the current Piazza Savonarola, the Marzocco at the top of the Column commemorates the definitive passage of Montepulciano to Florence, and remained in that place until 1856, when it was replaced by a copy.

New opening hours. We also remind you that starting from November, the winter opening hours at the Civic Museum return, which include: from Friday 1 November to 19 December 2024, openings only on Saturdays and Sundays, from 10:00 to 18:00. From 20 December 2024 to 6 January 2025, the Museum will be open every day, from 10:00 to 18:00, with the exception of Tuesdays, 25 December 2024 and 1 January 2025.
