Montepulciano sustainable destination: benefits and opportunities
Tourism operators, citizens and anyone interested are invited to participate in the Living Lab, the meeting that Strada del Vino Nobile di Montepulciano and Sapori della Valdichiana Senese in collaboration with the Municipality of Montepulciano has scheduled for Thursday, March 6, 2025 at 16:00, at 1st Floor of Palazzo del Capitano, Piazza Grande.
The initiative is part of a cycle of meetings that will be held in the municipalities of Valdichiana Senese between February and March 2025, to open a discussion table on opportunities for development and collaboration related to tourism and economic aspects of the territory. Ten years after the recognition of the Valdichiana Senese as a tourist destination, the meetings will serve to analyze the last decade of promotional activities, listen to needs, collect suggestions and ideas, in order to project an action plan on the themes of sustainability, training and internationalisation, which today appear as real challenges to be faced.
In Montepulciano, the meeting program includes at 16:00 the start of work, with the introduction and presentation of activities; an open debate to share experiences, criticalities and proposals for the future; finally, summaries and conclusions, to define the guidelines for a strategic plan that responds to the challenges of the sector.
At 6:00 pm a seminar on sustainability, a topic on which Montepulciano has been involved for some time, obtaining the certification of Sustainable Tourism Destination according to the international GSTC standard.
