Every season, a story. Travel tips for safe travel.
There are places that change with the passing of the months, and Montepulciano is one of them. Here, each season is an invitation to discover a different side of our community and the surrounding area.
- Spring lights up the countryside: vineyards and hills come alive, perfect for walks and views that seem painted.
- Summer is pure energy: the village comes alive with events and traditions—from the Bravìo delle Botti (photo) to music festivals like the Cantiere Internazionale d’Arte, the Live Rock Festival, and the traditional Bruscello Poliziano theater—concerts and shows that transform the squares into stages.
- Autumn is the time of the grape harvest, foliage, and open cellars, where Vino Nobile meets the authentic flavors of the Valdichiana Senese.
- Winter brings the magic of Christmas to Montepulciano, with markets and heart-warming atmospheres within the Renaissance walls.
- Spring – trekking at the lake
- Summer – Bravìo delle Botti

Montepulciano is a journey that knows no seasons: every time of year offers unique experiences, combining culture, nature, and tradition.
Weather and emergency management.
Montepulciano offers guests a travel experience that’s not only enchanting and vibrant, but also safe. The Civil Protection information system for the Valdichiana Senese relies primarily on the Union of Municipalities of the Valdichiana Senese, which coordinates activities for the local municipalities, providing direct emergency contact numbers (800-913648 and 320-4345803) and managing Municipal Plans, integrating national systems such as IT-Alert for direct information to the public via mobile phones.

To stay informed:
- We recommend downloading the “Cittadino Informato” app, a mobile application (Android/iOS) that allows you to receive weather alerts, criticality bulletins, and communications from civil protection and local public services directly on your smartphone in real time.
- Consult the “Cittadino Informato” website, a project developed by ANCI (National Association of Municipalities) and the Tuscany Region.
- Particularly critical situations will be communicated not only through the Municipality of Montepulciano’s traditional information channels (website, app, WhatsApp channel, social media, etc.), but also through the news section of the Montepulcianoliving.it portal.
For more information on the local Civil Protection system, please consult these slides: Civil Protection Plan Presentation: presentazione piani protezione civile (ITA).
