Montepulciano Climate-Sustainable, meeting fot business and citizens in Montepulciano
How to address the challenges of climate change by transforming them into opportunities for sustainable development? This is the topic of “Montepulciano Climate – Sustainable”, scheduled for Friday 14 November in the Ex Macelli. The meeting, organized by the Municipality of Montepulciano in collaboration with Strada del Vino Nobile di Montepulciano e dei Sapori della Valdichiana Senese, is open to the widest participation of institutions, businesses and citizens.
During the event, thanks also to contributions from authoritative experts, it will be possible to find out good tourism practices, bring your own experience and think about new solutions to implement for a sustainable future of the territory.
Confirmed as a Sustainable Tourist Destination in 2025, according to the criteria of the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC), Montepulciano in fact keeps high attention on issues related to responsible tourism management from an environmental, cultural and socio-economic point of view, as explained by the Mayor Michele Angiolini: «Montepulciano was the first small and medium-sized Italian city to receive certification, result of a path undertaken with citizens and businesses on sustainability issues. This initiative allows us to take a step forward in sharing policies that are increasingly attentive to the necessary balance between residentiality and hospitality».
The morning program includes a meeting at 9:00 am, for the registration of participants. Institutional greetings will open the meeting. At 9.45 am, project consultant and CEO Territori Sostenibili Srl Robert Kropfitsch will speak on the topic “The path of Sustainability Certification: activities and new programs”, after which Giuseppe Giaccardi, strategy consultant and CEO Studio Giaccardi & Associati, will delve deeper into the central topic of the initiative “Tourism: Climate Innovation – Sustainable”.
This will be followed, at 11.30 am, by a focus group which will be useful for gathering opinions, perceptions and ideas on “How to transform the risks of climate change into opportunities for businesses and citizens. How to generate shared climate adaptation policies”. A comparison of the results that emerged will conclude the initiative.
