Walk among the Olive Trees, national day

Discovering the countryside and the historical centre of Acquaviva di Montepulciano

As part of the “Walk among the Olive Trees” national day, Acquaviva, a small hamlet in the municipality of Montepulciano, located about 6 km from the main town, becomes the setting of a walk to discover the surrounding countryside. The appointment for participants is at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, 30 October, in the car park on Via del Santo, on the immediate outskirts of the hamlet, near Cantina Avignonesi (artisan area).

09.30 a.m., the walk starts, with stop at 10 a.m. at Villa Ricci to visit the park and the private church.

11:00 a.m., arrival at the Buonviaggio church and visit.

At 12:00 noon, arrival at the Teatro Dei Concordi and visit.

At 12:30 p.m., tasting of extra virgin olive oil, bruschetta and baked goods.

The walk lasts about 2 hours, for a distance of about 4 km; difficulty level, easy.

The morning outing includes a “Moment of Poetry”, with readings on oil and the olive tree by Donatella Volpi.

The “walk” is organised by the “Pro Loco” Association of Montepulciano, with the collaboration of the “Il Fierale” Association of Acquaviva and the patronage of the Municipality of Montepulciano, and is promoted by the “Città dell’Olio” Association.
